At 10:58 a.m. on March 20, 2026, with Japanese President Niitō of Shindō and General Manager Tamura of Qingdao Shindō, along with Director Zhao of Qingdao Huatong Group and other leaders in attendance, Qingdao Shindō Machinery Co., Ltd. completed a comprehensive upgrade of its Skills and Safety Training Center and officially inaugurated the “Skills Dojo.” This milestone marks the company’s transition in the field of safety training from a “single-prevention” approach to a integrated model that places equal emphasis on safety and skill development.

As a pioneer in haptic-based safety training in China, Qingdao Xindong Machinery Co., Ltd. has been at the forefront of haptic training in the Qingdao area since the completion of the Qingdao Municipal Work Safety Training (Jiaozhou) Base in March 2019. The base has introduced 33 types of haptic equipment from Japan’s Xindong, covering nearly all potential work-safety hazards encountered in mechanical manufacturing and foundry enterprises. According to statistics, following the establishment of the center, the company’s internal workplace injury rate dropped by approximately 60%. The center has been visited and commended by the Consul General of the Japanese Consulate-General in Qingdao, and in 2019 it was designated as the Education (Qingdao) Base of the China Foundry Association, thereby solidifying its status as an industry benchmark.

This update places particular emphasis on upgrading a variety of hazardous motion-sensing devices and emergency rescue training programs, significantly enhancing realism and visual impact to enable trainees to directly experience the severe consequences of unsafe operating practices.
The newly established “Skills Dojo” deeply integrates hazard prediction training with standardized operational practice, helping employees move from merely “knowing what to do” to “understanding why it must be done that way,” and from “knowing what not to do” to “mastering the safest and most efficient ways to perform each task.” By gaining a thorough understanding of the structure and operating principles of various pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical control components, employees are better equipped to assemble, maintain, and operate equipment effectively.

Leveraging over 1,700 square meters of training facilities and an ever-growing array of cutting-edge motion-sensing equipment, Qingdao Xindong plans to elevate its training capabilities to a new level. Moving forward, the center will remain open to enterprises in Qingdao and surrounding areas, contributing to the enhancement of regional workplace safety.
From its pioneering efforts in 2019 to the now highly refined operation of its skills training center, Qingdao Xindong Machinery Co., Ltd. is translating its safety philosophy from “I must be safe” to “I want to be safe and I know how to be safe,” thereby laying a solid foundation of safety and skill development for the high-quality growth of the regional economy.
